However, Ancelotti also rushed to the defence of Inter boss Rafa Benitez following a string of disappointing results.

“I believe he hasn't much blame in this situation, as he has had to deal with a large number of injuries and that put him at a disadvantage.

“Having said that, replacing Jose Mourinho will not be at all easy, especially as he won everything while at Inter.”
