The former Real Madrid boss is set to replace Pep Guardiola as Bayern Munich Coach in the summer and it will be the fifth country he has coached in.

Ancelotti also suggested that he could end his career where he started it, working for the national team.

“The Italy job? History says that they will get to the World Cup final in Russia and then win it in 2030,” he said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I started my career with Italy alongside Arrigo Sacchi and could finish it there: I’ll be 71 years old, the right age for one last great triumph.

“The problem is that I need to work for another 10 years to get to 2026 and think about the national team.

“When I left Italy in 2009 I didn’t speak other languages and was worried. It’s gone well everywhere: England, France, Spain.

“Now I hope it’s the same in Germany too. German is hard but I’m working hard.”
