“I was not sure until the last minute whether I’d be staying at Fiorentina. When I realised that I was staying, I knew I’d have to give my best, because wearing this jersey is important for me,” he told Radio Blu.
“I was happy in England and was even voted player of the year thanks to the Sunderland manager, who really believed in me. I haven’t spoken to the club about a renewal, but it’s not important right now. I am happy and I want to stay in Florence.
