According to the Gazzetta dello Sport and Napoli specialist site Si Gonfia La Rete, Allan’s home was broken into last night, with windows smashed in, rooms rifled through and their safe opened.

However, some items of value – such as a €10,000 handbag – were ignored and very little was stolen.

Allan was named in the media as one of the architects behind the player revolt, which saw the squad disobey club orders to go back into a training retreat after the Champions League draw with RB Salzburg.

According to the local reports, he fears this was retaliation for those events, a particularly terrifying thought considering his heavily-pregnant wife Thais was in the house at the time.

Their two children were out with a nanny, but their rooms were also rifled through by the burglars.

Allan was not set to play in today’s game against Genoa, as he is injured.
