The Giallorossi edged out their fierce rivals 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, leapfrogging Simone Inzaghi’s team in the Serie A table in the process.

“If we carry on like this, with this attitude, we can go far and fight for the Scudetto,” Alisson told reporters.

The Giallorossi edged out their fierce rivals 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, leapfrogging Simone Inzaghi’s team in the Serie A table in the process.

Speaking post-match, the Brazilian praised his teammates’ attitude and their desire to work for each other.

“If we carry on like this, with this attitude, we can go far and fight for the Scudetto,” Alisson told reporters.

“But our thoughts are on the next game. Now we need to think about Atletico.

“To possibly win a Scudetto we have to win matches. We believe in our strengths, our group is very strong.

“We play for our teammates, we run for each other. Helping each other out makes everything easier.”

Lazio threatened a comeback when Ciro Immobile halved the deficit with a 72nd minute penalty, with shot-stopper Alisson accepting a share of the responsibility for the way it came about.

“For the Immobile penalty I didn’t call for the ball. Kolarov maybe could have closed down the cross better, I could have come out, Manolas could have cleared the ball, Fazio could have positioned himself better.

“But we need to learn from mistakes, we’ll watch the video and do better next time.”
