Now, according to Football Direct News, Benitez wants a reunion with Danish international Agger, who he himself signed for the Anfield club in 2006.
However, the Spaniard is likely to face competition from Barcelona to secure the 29-year-old’s services.
Any offer from the Catalan club may also include Cristian Tello, who has been a long term target for the Reds.
