Reports emerged today that the Partenopei are considering ending Zapata’s two-year Zebrette loan early in order to offer him as part of a bid for the Neroverdi’s Sime Vrsaljko.

Agent Fernando Villarreal appeared open to the idea, but insisted that the final decision will be up to the Azzurri.

“Despite Duvan’s injury it was a good season, he scored eight goals in just 1500 minutes,” Villarreal said to TuttoNapoli.

“He’s doing really well at Udinese and in theory his future should still be with the Bianconeri.

“Yes, there are offers and not just from Italy. There are lots of teams interested in him, also from foreign champions, as there have been since he arrived in Serie A.

“Everything will depend on Napoli, on the projects of the club.

“Deal with Sassuolo for Vrsaljko? Why not? Sassuolo have done very well in the last few seasons, with a great young Coach. And now they’re in the Europa League. But I repeat, it all depends on Napoli.

“Napoli haven’t contacted me yet. But we’re calm. Duvan is doing well in Udine and there’s another season on his loan with the Bianconeri.

“If there was to be a new possibility, we would evaluate it with the Azzurri.

“Duvan adores Napoli and Naples, it’s the club that opened the door to Europe for him and he’ll never forget that, but at this point in his career he needs to play a lot, to have minutes to show his value.

“If there was space at the Vesuviani in the future, he would return without doubt.”
