“It was a decision made in unison with PSG and the FIGC,” Di Campli told Tuttomercatoweb.
“We are very disappointed not to be taking part in the European Championships, but this was a problem Marco had been dealing with for a long time.
“The lad is really upset that he can’t help the Nazionale, but it was a step we simply had to make.”
Verratti will be out of action for approximately eight weeks, meaning he’ll be ready to take part in pre-season training with Paris Saint-Germain.
