Ciro Immobile’s agent believes Serie A clubs are currently unable to compete for Europe’s and the World’s top players.

The 24-year-old Italian forward opted to join German side Borussia Dortmund this summer rather than remain in his homeland, where he was co-owned by Torino and Juventus.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Crc, Marco Sommella expressed his belief that Immobile did not fit into Juve Coach Antonio Conte’s style of play.

He also feels the significance of Italy’s top flight losing its top goal scorer for the third year in succession cannot be underestimated.

“Conte knows Immobile well,” Sommella said. “He watched him grow up in the youth academy and maybe he isn’t suited to his style of play.

“Unfortunately Italian football isn’t able to attract the top players and in fact, it’s the third year in a row that Italy has lost its top goal scorer.

“It’s not a question of a lack of offers from Italy but when teams like Borussia, PSG or Real Madrid come in, the Italian teams don’t have the power to attract players.”
