Lautaro Martinez’s agent insists there is the very real possibility the striker will stay with Inter ‘for life,’ but also that some day it could be ‘an opportunity’ to boost the club’s finances.

The World Cup winner is under contract at San Siro until June 2026 and already discussing a new deal with the directors.

“Our relationship with Inter is based on trust. I think we will be able to reach a very good deal for Inter and for Lautaro,” agent Alejandro Camano told TV Play.

“The important thing for me is the mentality that Lautaro could stay here for life and I want to thank the club for that.”

However, there are also other concerns, as Inter are seeking new investors with a huge loan repayment due to Oaktree Capital in April 2024.

If they did need to raise funds quickly and balance the books, then selling the Argentina international would be a big sacrifice.

“In football if there was a good moment for another opportunity, both for the player and the club’s finances, then we would look at it.”

However, all concerned seem to be very happy with the current situation and see no reason to push for a change, especially after reaching the Champions League Final.

“Lautaro’s objective is to continue like this with Inter, make the fans happy and see them arrive at San Siro thinking their team can win,” concluded Camano.

Now 26, Lautaro Martinez was signed from Racing Club Avellaneda in 2018 for €25m, but is now worth easily four times that sum.

So far this season, he has contributed 14 goals in 16 games between Serie A and the Champions League.
