The agent of Kalidou Koulibaly has admitted that while the defender is happy at Napoli, rival clubs are following his client ‘every week’.
The 23-year-old has flourished at the heart of the Partenopei’s defence since arriving from Genk over the summer, reportedly prompting the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United to show an interest in him.
The agent of Kalidou Koulibaly has admitted that while the defender is happy at Napoli, rival clubs are following his client ‘every week’.
The 23-year-old has flourished at the heart of the Partenopei’s defence since arriving from Genk over the summer, reportedly prompting the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United to show an interest in him.
“Koulibaly has grown a lot, but he can do even more. The next step is to start scoring from set-pieces. Then everyone will see Kalidou’s steady growth,” his agent Mogy Bayat has today told Radio Crc.
“Bayern Munich’s interest in Koulibaly? Foreign scouts are following him every week.
“Before he joined Napoli, he was followed by many important clubs, but Napoli were the first to make an approach.
“Kalidou has enormous potential and that’s why he can develop even further. Koulibaly is happy to stay in Naples, and even if an important offer came in, he would say no.
“He has never asked them for a transfer. Between January and June, he will only leave Napoli if the club requested him to.
“After failing to qualify in the Champions League, Kalidou was a bit sad. In Italy, however, he has realised that the League is balanced because there isn’t much disparity amongst the top clubs.
“Napoli believe they can aim for European qualification, but they must go all out, even in the Europa League, as they can win this competition.”
On the topic of Koulibaly breaking into the France squad, Bayat noted: “I won’t ever push my player into the national team, but I’ve seen the standard of [France’s] defence and don’t wish to discuss their value.
“However, I can say that Koulibaly has extra quality.”
