Gabriel Barbosa’s agent insists the striker is “happy at Inter” who “want to hold onto him” in this window.

The forward, commonly known as Gabigol, has played just 21 minutes for the Nerazzurri since joining from Santos in the summer, leading to speculation he could be loaned-out in January.

“There’s nothing new right now,” Wagner Ribeiro told FantaGazzetta.

“He has a contract with Inter and there have been no significant developments. Personally, no-one has contacted me.

“I don’t know if anyone has spoken with Inter, but it will become clear very soon. In the coming days I’ll be in Milan and we’ll take stock of the situation with the club, who want to hold onto him and not let him go anywhere.

“Gabriel is happy at Inter, he really wanted to come here and he wants to make his mark in this shirt.

“It’s normal that he needs to play more to show his undoubted quality, but he’s working hard every day.”
