Manolo Gabbiadini’s agent has compared his client to calcio legend Gigi Riva, for his ‘bewitching’ left foot.
Riva scored 156 Serie A goals during a career which saw him help Cagliari to the Scudetto, and Gabbiadini – who is believed to be on the verge of a move to Napoli – is reminiscent of the great man, according to his agent.

Riva scored 156 Serie A goals during a career which saw him help Cagliari to the Scudetto, and Gabbiadini – who is believed to be on the verge of a move to Napoli – is reminiscent of the great man, according to his agent.
“At 14 Atalanta sent Manolo Gabbiadini to play on loan, because he wasn’t physically ready for the first team,” Silvio Pagliari recalled in an interview with Tele Radio Stereo
“I came across him in Montichiari and I was bewitched by his left foot.
“I’m not surprised by his development, he’s got a good head on his shoulders, one of those players who doesn’t speak much but shows a lot.
“He has eight goals between the league and the Italian cup, given he’s playing out wide it’s a considerable haul.
“His left foot reminds me – in the way he shoots – of Gigi Riva.
“Manolo shows what the ‘boy next door’ can do. Without gelled hair or tattoos, he’s a real son of Bergamo who prefers facts to idle talk.”
