Carlos Augusto has completed his transfer to Inter from Monza, while Stefano Sensi’s agent confirms it is ‘more than likely’ he will remain after the Lazar Samardzic move collapsed.

Only the formal announcement is left now, as Carlos Augusto spent the afternoon at the Inter headquarters, where he signed the contract on a loan at €4m with option to buy for a further €7m plus bonuses.

His representative Beppe Riso confirmed as much when speaking to reporters outside the offices.

“It’s all OK for Carlos Augusto, he signed now.”

Riso also happens to be the agent representing another Inter player, midfielder Sensi, who it was rumoured could now stay on if their deal for Samardzic is abandoned.

“He played 30 games last season, we are happy that Sensi is back to being the player he was. Finally, he is in good shape and Inter are very happy about that too. It is more than likely he will stay.”

Sensi spent last season on loan at Monza and was expected to go out again due to his terrible injury record, but has impressed so far in summer friendlies.

That plan was changed because Inter are ready to drop Samardzic, having agreed a deal with Udinese for €15m plus ownership of midfielder Giovanni Fabbian.

Samardzic’s father suddenly demanded more money for commissions and salary, infuriating the Nerazzurri.
