Danny Blind confirms a loan move to Roma for his son Daley is difficult – “Manchester United don’t want to let him go on loan”.

The Giallorossi approached the English club about signing the Dutch international, but it was reported this morning that they were turning their attentions to Jonathan Silva of Sporting CP.

“Time is running out because it’s the last day of the transfer window,” Blind Sr, who is also his son’s agent, told LaRoma24.

“Yes, I can confirm that Roma want him but Manchester United don’t want to let him go on loan, only on a permanent basis.

“They don’t want to sell him now, only in the summer. The price is good, but the operation is difficult.

“It’s really difficult [for a transfer to happen] because Manchester United want to keep him to play in the Champions League, the Premier League and the FA Cup.

The group is very united and they want him to stay.

“Italy would be an interesting choice for him, but Manchester United is a huge club that doesn’t need to sell players and doesn’t need the money.

“[Manager Jose] Mourinho wants to keep this group together. Maybe if we had a few days, a week perhaps, but we’ve only got a few hours.

“It’s really very difficult.”
