And according to Tuttosport, De Laurentiis has personally told Blues owner Roman Abramovich that a fee of €20m is required to relieve Sarri from his contract, paving the way for him to finally move to London.

It was thought that a deal could be done if Chelsea offered Napoli €8m in addition to a player.

However, the Italian daily has dismissed that possibility and claims De Laurentiis will only settle for a larger sum of cash.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also encountering problems dismissing current Coach Antonio Conte.

Conte, who has won the Premier League and FA Cup during his time with the Blues, is holding out for a €10m pay-off from Chelsea should they dispense with his services.

The London side began pre-season training yesterday, with their Italian boss not pictured or even mentioned by the official club website.
