Liverpool winger Bobby Adekanye confirmed he is leaving as a free agent and received an offer from Lazio, but “it’s not 100 per cent decided.”

The 20-year-old will be out of contract in June and there were reports in both Italy and England that he had agreed a four-year contract with Lazio worth €0.5m per season.

“It is not true that there is a deal done with Lazio,” he told Voetbalzone.

“It is not true that there is a deal done with Lazio,” he told Voetbalzone.

“They are one of the clubs interested, but it is not 100 per cent decided. I also heard from Barcelona, while in the Netherlands Willem II approached me.

“I can’t name the entire list of clubs now, otherwise we’d still be here tomorrow, but there is interest from – among others – clubs in the Netherlands, Italy and Spain.

“I am going to talk to my family and business manager in the summer, so I am not worried at being without a club. I have to make a decision, as I could go to a big club and play very little, but gain more experience, or earn more time on the field at a smaller club.

“I think that I am ready to play in a first team and that would be a big step, as I have not played professional football yet.”

Dutch player Adekanye said he decided not to renew his contract with Liverpool because he was promised more opportunities and they did not materialise.

“The confidence is no longer there, even though I still greatly respect the club. I don’t think I am part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans, so I have to look for something else.”
