The right-back, turned into a defender by former Rossoneri boss and current PSG transfer chief Leonardo, has been paired with the French club.

“We haven’t spoken to anyone from Paris SG for the moment,” representative Andrea D'Amico told Sky Sport Italia in an interview.

“I’ve read about the possible move in the newspapers, but I have not been contacted by anybody from the Paris club.

“The transfer market closes on August 31…”

The 25-year-old made 29 League appearances in Serie A last season and eight in the Champions League.

He was also a part of Italy’s Euro 2012 campaign where the Azzurri finished as runners-up.

Abate yesterday spoke of his hopes for the new season with the Diavolo.

PSG have already signed Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the San Siro giants this summer.
