Seven Serie A representatives have been on target for their national sides during the current break in domestic action, including a Denzel Dumfries header and a Lazio double from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Boulaye Dia on Friday.

Seven Serie A goalscorers so far this international break

Inter defender Denzel Dumfries was on target for the Netherlands in their 1-1 Nations League draw with Hungary on Friday night. Wearing the captain’s armband at the time, the Nerazzurrii wing-back slammed home a header from a set-piece just four minutes after Virgil van Dijk’s dismissal reduced the Netherlands to 10 men.

Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored the only goal of the game late on as Nigeria picked up a 1-0 win over Libya in AFCON qualifying on Friday night.

Boulaye Dia made it two Lazio goals on Friday evening, as he scored the third of Senegal’s four goals as they picked up a 4-0 victory over 10-man Malawi, also in AFCON qualifying.

Serie A stars Andrea Cambiaso and Mateo Retegui of Juventus and Atalanta were both on target when Italy recorded a 2-2 draw at home with Belgium earlier in the week.

Another Lazio player in Matteo Guendouzi has also been on the scoresheet this break, netting in a 4-1 France victory over Italy’s upcoming opponents, Israel.

Venezia striker Joel Pohjanpalo was also on target for Finland earlier this week, but his goal was not enough to help his side avoid a 2-1 loss to the Republic of Ireland.

  1. Why did you put in title Lazio double when it was Triple? Dele-Bashiru of Nigeria, Dia for Senegal AND Guondozi for France .
