Good evening and welcome to the Football Italia liveblog for Friday’s early kick-off between Antonio Conte’s Napoli and Cesc Fabregas’s Como.

Napoli are the current leaders in Serie A after six matches with a tally of 13 points made up of four wins and one draw. The Partenopei have not lost in the league since the opening weekend of the 2024-25 season.

Como, meanwhile, have picked up back-to-back 3-2 wins over Atalanta and Hellas Verona over the last two weeks, and could end the evening in the Serie A top six with a win at the Stadio Maradona.

Full-time report
Full-time: Napoli 3-1 Como

McTominay opens the scoring after 25 seconds. Strefezza euqliased for Como two minutes before half-time. Napoli dealt with the visitor’s threats better in the second half, and got back in front through Lukaku via the penalty spot, and then David Neres in the final 10 minutes.

The Partenopei go four points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

90'+5

Neres almost makes it four in the final seconds. Like Kvaratskhelia, he bursts down the left, but stings the palms of Audero when one-on-one in the area.

90'+4

Napoli supporters beginning to sing songs about the Scudetto. The Partenopei currently have a four point gap over Juventus in second.

Gabrielloni is on for Cutrone. Gilmour replaces Lobotka for Napoli.

Napoli 3-1 Como - David Neres!

Another assist for Lukaku. He holds it up well, before sending David Neres through one-on-one, who makes no mistake in slotting it past Audero.

85'

Great long ball from Kempf, and an even better knock-down in the area off the head of Belotti. Nico Paz flashes wide. That was a great chance.

84'

Belotti on for Strefezza, Engelhardt on for Van der Brempt, who pulled up with a possible hamstring issue.

83'

Belotti is being readied in the Como dugout.

79'

That was Kvaratskhelia’s final touch of the game. He’s replaced by David Neres. Politano also makes way for Mazzocchi.

79'

Kvaratskhelia takes the resulting free-kick, but Sergi Roberto gets it clear.

78'

Another bursting Kvaratskhelia run down the left. He stalls, and manages to win a free kick on the left-hand edge of the area.

77'

Pasquale Mazzocchi and David Neres are preparing to come on for Napoli.

75'

A trademark Kvaratskhelia run off the left flank. Comes inside and fires a shot at Audero, but it’s straight at the keeper.

75'

Play gets back underway, temporarily 10 vs 10. Buongiorno and Kempf should be okay to carry on.

74'

Both Kempf and Buongiorno are receiving treatment. The Italy international appears to have come off slightly worse here.

74'

Paz goes short to Strefezza. Napoli get it clear, but win a free-kick anyway. Clash of heads in the area between Kempf and Buongiorno.

72'

Cutrone wins Como a corner after forcing a shot on his own in the Napoli area.

Replays show there was a hand to the back from Alberto Moreno on Kvaratskhelia. That could have gone either way really. Not a clear and obvious error, though.

65'

Conte is shown a yellow on the touchline after his protests during the penalty appeals.

64'

Napoli screaming for another penalty. Kvaratskhelia dazzles in the area and goes down after apparent contact. The referee was adamant it wasn’t a foul, and he was in a very good position to be fair to him.

62'

Kvaratskhelia’s corners haven’t been great. This one sails quite high and Como have few difficulties in putting it clear. Napoli do come away with a throw in the final third, though.

61'

Kvaratskhelia in acres of space on the left flank. Van der Brempt recovers well to put the attempted cross behind for a corner,

59'

Both Buongiorno and Strefezza go into the book and we look set to get back underway. That was all a bit unnecessary.

Replays show it was Strefezza who ‘hit’ Buongiorno.
