Milan Prosecutor Marcello Viola says that leading Milan ultras member Luca Lucci, arrested on Monday, met with the Rossoneri captain Davide Calabria in a bar in February 2023, although the content of their conversation remains unknown.

Several Milan and Inter ultras were arrested in an anti-mafia operation Monday morning. Authorities describe the Milanese clubs and their members as ‘damaged parties’, but investigators have recorded meetings and chats between ultras members now under custody and representatives of the two clubs.

Milan Prosecutor Marcello Viola and National anti-mafia and anti-terrorism prosecutor Giovanni Melillo held a press conference on Monday to explain the police operation.

As reported by Calcio & Finanza, some of those arrested on Monday had contacts with Inter and Milan players as well as the Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi.

Viola insisted that nobody from Inter and Milan is under investigation as Police see a form of “subjection and not complicity” in contact between club members and ultras.

Milan captain Calabria reportedly met arrested ultras member

The Milan Prosecutor revealed that Lucci, a leading ultras member of Milan’s Curva Sud, met the Rossoneri captain Calabria at a bar in Cologno Monzese on February 8, 2023.

It is reported that Giancarlo Capelli, another Milan ultras known as Il Barone, “cryptically” informed Lucci about the upcoming meeting without mentioning who would come to talk to him.

“Based on the images recorded by investigators, it’s fair to assess that the subject in question, mentioned in an unambiguously cryptic phone conversation, can be identified in Davide Calabria, player and captain of Milan,” said Police. What Lucci told Calabria on that day hasn’t been reported.

Calabria was seemingly not the only one having occasional contact with ultras members who were later arrested. According to Police, among them were ex-Inter defender Milan Skriniar, now at PSG, and Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi.

Wiretaps appear to prove that in 2023, the Nerazzurri tactician spoke with Marco Ferdico, an Inter ultra pushing to secure extra tickets for the 2022-23 Champions League Final.
