The Partenopei started the campaign with a shock 3-0 defeat to Verona, but have now won three on the bounce and today give Scott McTominay his first start in midfield.

This is always going to be a special fixture for former Torino defender Buongiorno, who had many a battle in the Derby della Mole in this stadium.

Buongiorno hints at Napoli tactics

Speaking to DAZN before kick-off, the Italy international was asked how his game has changed under new coach Conte.

“Obviously, the difference is that we play more as a unit, the coach gives us various options to build out from the back and pick the right passes. We try to help out the attack and work as a unit when defending,” confirmed Buongiorno.

There were some suggestions that Napoli could use a 4-3-3 formation for this evening against Thiago Motta’s Juventus, but it might be a variable tactical approach.

“We will vary between three and four at the back during the game. We prepared well during the week and can’t wait to give our best on the field,” assured the defender.
