Milan remain interested in striking a deal with Borussia Mönchengladbach for midfielder Manu Kone, but the deal will only become possible for Milan if they are able to sell some of their current first-team options first.

Milan must sell Bennacer and Adli to sign Kone

Milan’s interest in Kone depends heavily on the future of Ismael Bennacer. The Algeria international could still be sold before the end of the summer transfer window, which might clear up enough space on Milan’s balance sheets to make a move for the Frenchman possible.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic admitted that the Rossoneri are still interested in a deal for Kone, directly after they signed his compatriot Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco. Though they are similar in profile, Paulo Fonseca would like to have both players on his books.

Reports earlier in the summer suggested that Milan would have to sell two players in orfer to make the move feasible, one being Bennacer and the other Yacine Adli.

Adli has since arrived at Viola Park to complete his permanent move to Fiorentina
