Milan and Tottenham continue to discuss the financial details of a deal for right-back Emerson Royal, but the player is reportedly only interested in joining the Rossoneri this summer, which gives Paulo Fonseca and his team a hand in negotiations with the North Londoners.

Emerson Royal wants only Milan

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, it was in fact Tottenham who approached Milan to discuss a transfer for the Brazilian full-back, rather than Milan asking Tottenham.

Milan have lodged an offer with the Premier League outfit at a fee just shy of €15m with add-ons included. Spurs had been hoping to fetch a figure almost €10m higher than that, but their hand has been forced by Emerson’s desire to play for no other side than Milan.

The player and the Rossoneri already have an agreement in principle over the terms of a contract, but Milan and Tottenham still need to reach a final agreement over the transfer fee and payment structure.

Milan have brought in two permanent signings so far this summer in Spain captain Alvaro Morata, and centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic from RB Salzburg.

The Rossoneri are also in the market for a new midfielder, and are continuing in discussions for Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Kone.
