Inter ultras held up a banner greeting the squad ahead of tonight’s match with Napoli, reassuring them after the Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.45 GMT.

Both these clubs crashed out of the Champions League in the Round of 16 this week, with Napoli capitulating to Barcelona and Inter losing on penalties to Atletico Madrid.

The Nerazzurri had reached the Final last season, only narrowly missing out to Manchester City 1-0 in Istanbul, and had been among the favourites to go all the way this term.

However, despite a 1-0 first leg victory, they lost 2-1 at the Wanda Metropolitano and were eventually beaten in a penalty shoot-out.

The ultras wanted to reassure their squad and coach Simone Inzaghi ahead of this evening’s Serie A match against reigning Champions of Italy Napoli at San Siro, so put up a giant banner outside the arena.

It read simply: ‘Proud of you.’

Inter are on track to win their 20th Serie A title and already lifted the Supercoppa Italiana this season.
