Daniele De Rossi’s Roma can take an important step forward in the top four race with a win over a struggling Cagliari.

The match between the Giallorossi and the Sardinian outfit kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

De Rossi’s time in charge of Roma has started perfectly, with back-to-back wins over Hellas Verona and Salernitana, and he’ll be hoping to complete the hattrick as the team look to maintain pace with fourth place Atalanta.

The Giallorossi cannot count on the injured Chris Smalling, Leonardo Spinazzola and Tammy Abraham.

Cagliari currently find themselves 17th in the Serie A table after 22 points, managing just 18 points from four wins and six draws. They are tied on points with the two teams below them in the table, pilling on the pressure ahead of their clash with Roma.

Ranieri’s side are without Marko Rog, Ibrahim Sulemana, Marco Mancosu, Gaetano Oristanio and Eldor Shomurodov, all of whom are sidelined with injuries.

When these two teams met back in October, Roma cruised to a 4-1 win away to Cagliari.

Probable line-ups for Roma vs Cagliari
