Atletico Madrid have decided to stop holding up the deal for Juventus striker Moise Kean and will move to finalise proceedings this week, transfer pundit Matteo Moretto says.

The 23-year-old Italian striker is on the way out of Turin this month as he looks for more regular playing time in the lead up to this summer’s European Championship. This season, he’s seen 472 minutes of action across 12 games under Massimiliano Allegri.

A handful of Italian clubs registered their interest in Kean this month, including Monza and Fiorentina, but the Juventus striker waited for a foreign club to come forward. Atletico eventually emerged and quickly negotiated terms with the Bianconeri.

Italian transfer pundit Matteo Moretto told Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that Atletico have decided to stop waiting to close out the deal for Kean and will now look to welcome the Juventus forward in the coming days, keen to bring him to the Spanish capital by Friday this week.

Diego Simeone’s side were initially waiting for Angel Correa to be sold, but nobody has reached the €30-40m asking price and they don’t want to risk losing out on the 23-year-old Italian striker.

Kean is joining Atletico on a six-month loan deal with no buy option attached, with Atletico paying his wages for the remainder of the season.
