Luigi Nasca, the VAR official of InterHellas Verona, will be sent to Serie B as the missed call on Alessandro Bastoni’s elbow was just ‘the latest error’ made this season.

Verona were furious with referee Michael Fabbri and VAR official Nasca on Saturday following Inter’s late 2-1 win at San Siro.

Bastoni elbowed Ondrej Duda in the build-up of Davide Frattesi’s winner, but neither Fabbri nor Nasca spotted the Italian defender’s foul so Inter’s goal was confirmed.

Now, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sport Mediaset, referee designator Gianluca Rocchi is furious with Nasca and will no longer appoint the 46-year-old for the next Serie A games, sending him to Serie B.

Rocchi has taken action following the many errors made by Nasca throughout the season, including those in Lecce-Bologna and Juventus-Bologna.

Gazzetta reports that referee Fabbri won’t be punished but is unlikely to be appointed for the next Serie A round.
