Juventus are in negotiations to extend Wojciech Szczesny’s contract to June 2026, as long as the veteran goalkeeper accepts a pay cut.
The shot-stopper is currently tied to the club until June 2025 and is on a salary of circa €6.5m per season net.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, their plan is to extend the current deal for one more year, but the with same overall financial remuneration, effectively spreading the wages out thinner.
It would mean taking his annual take home salary to €4.5m per season net.
Szczesny is not averse to the idea, as he is settled in Turin and has already turned down more lucrative interest from the Saudi Pro League and German champions Bayern Munich in recent months.
Juve also have shaken off ideas of going for Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma and have no desire to push Szczesny into an early retirement.
The June 2026 cut-off is a good point because it will also lead him into the World Cup, where he hopes to represent Poland.
