Massimiliano Allegri spoke about the difficulties Genoa can create for Juventus ahead of their imminent clash in Liguria.

The Bianconeri are hungry to secure all three points in their trip to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, keen to keep up the pressure on league leaders Inter. Victory over Genoa piles the pressure on the Nerazzurri ahead of their clash with Lazio on Sunday evening.

Juventus have won seven of their last eight league outings, looking almost flawless, whilst Genoa have only picked up one victory in their last five matches in the league, struggling to find the positivity they showed in the early stages of the season.

Speaking to DAZN via TuttoJuve, Allegri first looked ahead to Juventus’ clash with Genoa.

“67% of Genoa’s goals, they scored in the first 45 minutes, so they’re a team that run a lot, that press, at home they’re a team that create a lot of difficulties for you, so you have to have the right approach.”

He provided an update on Adrien Rabiot, who has been dropped from the squad due to issues sustained in the win over Napoli.

“He’s gone to the stands, because the stomp was a solved problem, but unfortunately he took a blow to the side.

“He trained separately, yesterday he was in great pain and therefore he can’t even come to play. Miretti will be there, he’s in good condition, in Florence he scored.

“Regardless of who takes to the pitch, we’ll have to play a good match, in the aspect of the approach on a technical level, because in any case Genoa are always a very difficult trip.”

The Juventus coach spoke about the attacking partnership of Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic.

“Dusan and Federico scored important goals at the beginning of the season, then they stopped a bit, but the others scored.

“The important thing is that they continue to perform at the service of the team, then they will surely find the goals.”
