Exams undergone by Stefan De Vrij and Denzel Dumfries have highlighted muscle injuries for both Inter defenders, and according to Sky Sport Italia, they will remain out of action for approximately 20 days.

De Vrij and Dumfries suffered injuries during Sunday’s win over Napoli on Sunday.

The Nerazzurri released a medical update about the pair on Tuesday.

“Stefan De Vrij and Denzel Dumfries underwent medical visits and tests this morning at the Istituto Humanitas in Rozzano, following injuries sustained in Sunday evening’s game against Napoli,” the Nerazzurri said in a statement.

“They revealed that the Dutch defender has strained the adductor muscles in the left thigh, and a strain in the left thigh flexor muscles for the Dutch winger. The two Nerazzurri players will be re-evaluated next week.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, both players will remain out of action for approximately 20 days.

Marko Arnautovic sustained a finger injury in Naples and will play the next few games with a splint, but will be available for the Nerazzurri.

Alessandro Bastoni is expected to return to action on Saturday against Udinese, while Benjamin Pavard will remain out for at least two more weeks.

Dumfries has two goals and four assists in 16 Inter appearances this season, while his compatriot De Vrij has played 17 matches across all competitions in 2023-24.
