Hans Nicolussi Caviglia gets a surprise start for Juventus in the Derby d’Italia against Inter, only the youth academy product’s fifth Serie A appearance for the club.

It kicks off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin at 19.45 GMT.

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from this game and Roma-Udinese on the LIVEBLOG.

The midfielder is given the nod to stand in for Manuel Locatelli, who is still struggling with a cracked rib that forced him to pull out of international duty with Italy.

Fabio Miretti is not at 100 per cent either, while Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli are suspended due to off the field issues.

Nicolussi Caviglia was born in Aosta, at the foot of the Alps, and has been in the Juventus youth academy since childhood.

He made his debut with the senior squad in March 2019 during a 4-1 Serie A win over Udinese, but his career stalled after a serious knee ligament injury in October 2020 that required more surgery in August 2021.

The player went out on loan to Perugia, Parma, Sudtirol and Salernitana.

Returning to the Juventus NextGen team and then the senior squad, the 23-year-old had made only one appearance this season, a two-minute cameo off the bench against Cagliari on November 11.
