Milan have been working hard on a deal for Serbian talent Matija Popovic for a while now and are close to beating Bayern Munich and Barcelona for his signature.

The 17-year-old forward is a product of Partizan’s youth system and has shined at Under-17 level, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists across 24 games last term. The teenager has been praised for his pace, technical ability and confidence with the ball at his feet.

Milan have been following Popovic for a while now and have been in close contact with his father, working to snap up the teenage talent on a free transfer when his contract expires with Partizan at the end of this calendar year.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan are starting to enter the final stages of the talks with Popovic and his father, close to reaching an agreement. The last details still need to be resolved but things are moving forward positively.

The Rossoneri are aware of the serious interest from Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, so are not considering it a done deal just yet.
