Olivier Giroud was visibly furious after being taken off in Milan’s draw with Napoli, but the Frenchman has no doubts about his future at the club.

The 37-year-old Frenchman, who has been much criticised for his lack of goals in recent weeks, netted a first-half brace to put the Rossoneri 2-0 up at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday night.

Napoli ultimately turned things around and drew level after goals from Matteo Politano and Giacomo Raspadori. In the 81st minute, Stefano Pioli took off Giroud and replaced him with Noah Okafor, leaving the French veteran furious on the sidelines.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Giroud’s reaction is a sign of his desire to do anything possible to help Milan on the pitch, feeling a key part of the squad and system in the Lombardy capital.

The Frenchman has less than a year left on his contract with the club but has no intention of leaving next summer, despite interest from the MLS and Saudi Arabia.

The 37-year-old’s entourage has already been in contact with Milan to start drawing up a new contract for the striker, who wants to stay another year or two before deciding his future.
