Paolo Di Canio feels Rafael Leao must be more determined, while Fabio Capello says Milan ‘watched PSG play’ in a 3-0 Champions League loss on Wednesday.

The Rossoneri have only collected two points in the opening three group-stage games and suffered a 3-0 defeat against Gigio Donnarumma’s PSG last night.

Milan have yet to score in the Champions League this term and failed to find the net in the last two games in the competition in 2022-23.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the PSG match on Wednesday, Di Canio, a former Milan striker, blamed the Rossoneri star striker Rafael Leao.

“He lacked determination. Not only he didn’t score, but he didn’t even give the feeling he could score,” said the ex-Italian forward.

“We always expect a spark from Leao. He must capitalise on Milan’s chances.”

Capello, on the other hand, analysed the general performance of Milan players but was also quite harsh on the Rossoneri.

“I didn’t like it even if the first 30 minutes were balanced, Stefano Pioli took a risk by deciding to play man-to-man and in the end it didn’t pay off,” said the ex-coach.

“When you play like this against great dribblers and fast players such as Kylian Mbappé and the others it’s very, very difficult to bring the result home. More attention was needed.

“Milan were absent in the second PSG goal. On that corner kick, they were watching the game while the others played,” continued Capello.

“They remained out of the box until minute 80. Too long. They had a chance with Pulisic who made an error when he passed it to Giroud. The final result not comforting. Zero goals and a bad position in the table.”

Milan host PSG at San Siro on November 7 in a key fixture in Group F.

The Ligue 1 giants are the Group leaders with six points, followed by Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund with four and the Rossoneri with two.
