Match day two of the Champions League sees a heavyweight clash and these Borussia Dortmund vs. Milan predictions look forward to the game. Neither team won their first match in Group F and they will be keen to get three points on the board this week.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Milan odds

1 – Borussia Dortmund to win – 24/17

2 – Donyell Malen to score – 13/5

3 – Both teams to score – 8/13

4 – Rafael Leao to score – 13/5

5 – A draw at full-time – 14/5

Borussia Dortmund welcome Milan to the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday evening in what is shaping up to be a campaign-defining match for both sides.

The Rossoneri face a PSG double-header in their next Champions League games, meaning this poses their best chance to secure three points until match day five, having only managed a draw in their opener. For Dortmund, defeat in the last match means they sit bottom of Group F and are in desperate need of a win on Wednesday.

Ahead of this must-win game, the bookmakers see the two sides as evenly matched. The home advantage has seen Dortmund emerge as favourites, with Edin Terzic’s side unbeaten in the Bundesliga. BVB have been handed a further advantage by the German authorities, by bringing their preceding game forward to Friday, giving them another day of rest.

Milan should by no means be written off, and remain only slight underdogs despite Dortmund’s advantages on paper. The Rossoneri are likely to go into Wednesday’s game with increased confidence, having outplayed Newcastle in the first round, only to be let down by some wasteful finishing.

At the Signal Iduna Park, there will be no such room for error up front and, instead, we back both teams to get on the scoresheet for the first time in this Champions League campaign.

The two sides have no shortage of quality out wide to justify the promise of goals. Dortmund’s Donyell Malen is leading their goalscoring charts, with three to his name and is equally happy up front or coming in off the right.

Malen’s opposite number, Rafael Leao, is another likely source of goals. The winger has bagged three this season and also provided an assist to current top-goal scorer Olivier Giroud. The Portuguese winger was criticised for showboating against Newcastle and will be keen to show his ruthless side on Wednesday.

With two such equally matched teams on paper, it would be no surprise to see this fixture end in a draw, despite the negative implications for both sides.

An injury crisis in midfield sees Rade Krunic joining Ismael Bennacer in the treatment room, which means Yacine Adli will start once again on Wednesday. Pierre Kalulu and Mike Maignan are also sidelined through injury, although Davide Calabria should be fit to feature.
