Fans and journalists reacted to Inter’s 5-1 derby win over Milan by praising Marcus Thuram’s performance and criticising Stefano Pioli’s set-up.

The Nerazzurri hardly put a foot wrong as they flew to their fifth consecutive Derby della Madonnina win over the Rossoneri, flying to glory thanks to goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Thuram, Hakan Calhanoglu and Davide Frattesi.

Italian newspapers were unconvinced of Pioli’s work in the derby and this sentiment was mostly shared by the fans and journalists, who highlighted his poor tactical match-up against Simone Inzaghi and disappointing substitutions.

Milan are only days away from their first Champions League outing of the campaign, facing off against Newcastle on September 19, so the team will need to bounce back fast and shake off the defeat.

For Inter, they are now starting to emerge as the favourites for the Scudetto this season, putting pressure on Inzaghi and his players to maintain their perfect start to the new season.

  1. Bastoni, Darmian, Acerbi, Dimarco, Barella are non-foreign players bro, they were all in starting eleven and then came Fratessi, another italian as substitute. You should name non-foreign players in Milan squad before commenting.
