Paolo Sousa’s side look for their first win of the season as these Salernitana vs. Torinopredictions look forward to Monday’s game. The visitors have secured their first three points before the international break and will be looking to build on that success.

Salernitana vs. Torino odds

1 – Torino to win – 6/5

2 – Torino to keep a clean sheet – 13/8

3 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 7/10

4 – Duvan Zapata to score anytime – 13/5

5 – A draw at full-time – 12/5

It’s the Granata derby, as Torino travel to take on Salernitana, looking for a second consecutive win in Serie A. Ivan Juric’s side are in their familiar mid-table position ahead of match day four but will be hopeful of a good result against their struggling hosts.

Paolo Sousa’s side may have started the season off well with a surprise draw at Roma but things have gone downhill since, with a home draw with Udinese before defeat to Lecce. Salernitana have been hampered greatly by injury to last season’s star man Boulaye Dia and will need to rapidly figure out how to offer an attacking threat in his absence.

This does not bode well for the visit of Il Toro, who last season had one of the strongest defences in the league. While this campaign did not start with such defensive solidity, Torino looked back to their best against Genoa, restricting their opponents to just two shots on target. With their hosts having failed to score at all against Lecce, a wager on another clean sheet for Juric’s men could pay off.

Unfortunately for the neutral, this may not lead to the most entertaining of fixtures. Torino have continued last season’s trend of struggling to offer much of an attacking threat, scoring just twice in their first three games of the season. Given Salernitana’s similar struggles, we predict a low-scoring encounter with fewer than 2.5 goals on Monday evening.

That being said, the visitors’ new addition over the summer does offer the potential for excitement. Duvan Zapata had seen his goalscoring output dwindle over the past few seasons but has already opened his account this campaign. The Colombian offers a dynamism that Juric’s side lacked last season and could prove a thorn in Salernitana’s side this week.
