Milan are starting to prepare for their Serie A showdown with Inter on Saturday, as Olivier Giroud and Pierre Kalulu provide injury updates and players return from international duty.

The Derby della Madonnina is a top of the table clash that kicks off at San Siro on Saturday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

Giroud was released early from the France camp after limping off with a knock to the ankle during a match and is now back at Milanello doing a separate, personalised training routine.

This is all part of the recovery process and reporters remain absolutely confident the veteran will be able to start against Inter.

The same cannot be said for Kalulu, who sustained a muscular problem and will have the test results on Thursday or Friday.

Players who returned to the camp today from international duty are Samuel Chukwueze, Rade Krunic, Simon Kjaer, Tijjani Reijnders and Luka Jovic.

They will be joined tomorrow by Rafael Leao, then USMNT stars Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic will arrive on Thursday.

England defender Fikayo Tomori is suspended against Inter.
