There are more concerns for Milan from the France camp after Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez skipped training today, amid reports of fitness issues.

They were already worried to see Olivier Giroud limp off 25 minutes into last night’s EURO 2024 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland.

Tests showed no serious damage to the left ankle, but the veteran striker was still ruled out of the upcoming friendly against Germany and will be sent home early for treatment with Milan.

However, there are more worries today with news that both goalkeeper Maignan and full-back Theo Hernandez did not take part in training.

According to RMC Sport, Theo Hernandez received a knock to the calf muscle, though nothing particularly serious.

As for Maignan, he worked in the recovery room undergoing physiotherapy after repeated muscular issues in recent months.

It was also extremely hot, so the rest of the France squad only did very light training too.

Milan will face Inter in the Serie A top of the table showdown on September 16.
