Italy will play North Macedonia in the EURO 2024 qualifier and goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski paid tribute to new team manager Gigi Buffon by wearing his legendary Juventus jersey.

The game is set to kick off at the National Arena Todor Proeski in Skopje on Saturday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

It is a potentially crucial encounter, as the Azzurri and North Macedonia both have three points, even if the Italians have a game in hand.

The group is completed by England, Ukraine and Malta.

When he turned up for training in North Macedonia, goalkeeper Dimitrievski decided to send a special message to the new member of the Italy staff.

Buffon announced his retirement last month and was appointed the new team manager under coach Luciano Spalletti.

Rayo Vallecano shot-stopper Dimitrievski attended wearing Buffon’s iconic Juventus jersey, in part designed by SuperGigi himself, complete with six-pack.

Perhaps it will earn him a meeting with his hero when the teams line up for their warm-up on Saturday.
