Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo confirms Lazar Samardzic is available after his proposed transfer to Inter collapsed, but warns that the Bianconeri ‘can’t negotiate’ if a top club make a big offer for the player.

Samardzic is available for Udinese’s first Serie A game of the season against Juventus but starts on the bench at the Dacia Arena.

He had undergone his medical with Inter last week, but the transfer collapsed after his entourage raised salary requests for the Nerazzurri.

“It’s the past, these things happen in football,” Pozzo told DAZN.

“The lad is back, he has understood that things didn’t go the right way. Now, he is available for the coach. We have no chance to negotiate if a big club offer him a lot of money. We don’t know what will happen, hopefully, this is the end of the story.

“We have a competitive team, but having the transfer window open while there are games is not good. I hope the rules will change next year.”
