Bologna have offered Nico Dominguez a new contract, but reports in Argentina suggest he is close to Nottingham Forest rather than Fiorentina, Galatasaray or Fenerbahce.

The 25-year-old is down to the final few months of his contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara, which expires at the end of this season.

It was announced this week that the Rossoblu have made a new proposal to extend, but it does not seem to have been met with much enthusiasm.

Dominguez had hoped to play for a club that is competing in Europe, which is why he had been linked with Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Fiorentina and Milan.

However, according to TyC Sports in Argentina, his most likely destination is Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

They are also close to a deal worth €15m for Sevilla and Argentina international defender Gonzalo Montiel, who scored the winning penalty in the 2022 World Cup Final against France.

Bologna purchased Dominguez from Velez Sarsfield in 2019 for €8.5m plus bonuses and a 25 per cent cut of the sell-on fee.
