Milan are close to reaching an agreement to sign Platense defender Marco Pellegrino for €3m plus add-ons reports Sky Sport Italia.
The Rossoneri are on the hunt for a new centre-back after loaning Matteo Gabbia to Villarreal earlier this summer. Sky Sport Italia claims they are now close to reaching an agreement with Argentinean side Platense for 21-year-old defender Pellegrino.
The Argentineans’ President Sebastián Ordoñez had arrived in Milan on Friday to hold talks with the Rossoneri and a meeting between him and Milan directors took place on Saturday night.
According to Sky Sport, Milan are confident of signing the promising centre-back for €3m plus add-ons and a clause on any future sale for Platense. Transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio claims Milan are preparing to welcome their ninth summer signing as the gap between Milan’s offer and Platense’s demands is now reduced to circa €500,000.
Pellegrino scored one goal in 17 appearances with Platense in 2022-23 under Boca Juniors legend Martin Palermo.
