Liverpool have reportedly been in contact with Fiorentina to enquire about the availability of Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat according to recent reports.

Initially revealed by Dutch Outlet AD, later reported by the likes of Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool have asked about the conditions of a potential deal, but have not submitted an official proposal as of yet.

Di Marzio details that the discussions are being conducted by intermediaries on both sides.

AD writes that Liverpool are on track to complete a deal within the next few days if no major obstacles crop up in that time.

Amrabat, who announced himself on the global stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, has been subject of interest from a number of clubs across Europe since the January transfer window.

He had been close to completing a move to Barcelona midway through the 2022-23 season, but that deal collapsed at the final hour, leaving the 26-year-old to return to Florence.

There has also been reported interest from the likes of Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and even Juventus in recent weeks.

However, Liverpool, who are still in need of midfield reinforcements before the close of the summer transfer window, are now among the leading candidates to land Amrabat’s signature.
