Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari are pushing for reinforcements this summer and have submitted an offer to former Everton and Barcelona defender Yerry Mina.

The Sardinian side secured promotion to the Italian topflight last season and have been active this summer, trying to strengthen the squad to avoid slipping back down to Serie B once again.

Cagliari have already signed a handful of players, including Jakub Jankto, Ibrahim Sulemana, Tommaso Augello and Eldor Shomurodov.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli have opened talks with Mina and have now submitted a contract offer to the defender, who is currently a free agent after his contract with Everton drew to a close at the start of this month.

Talks between the Rossoblu and the 28-year-old have been positive, and he is now seriously considering their proposal.

During his five years with Everton, Mina made 99 appearances across all competitions, having arrived from Barcelona in August 2018 in a deal worth around €30m.
