Italy international Gianluca Scamacca scored from the spot in a 6-2 win over Perth Glory on Saturday.

The Azzurri striker started in the Hammers’ pre-season friendly at the Optus Stadium in Perth. He created the chance for a penalty kick in the first half and then converted with a powerful finish, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Several Serie A clubs have been linked with signing him this summer, especially Roma, Juventus and Milan.

During his latest interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the ex-Sassuolo forward made no secret that a return to the Stadio Olimpico would be his primary option if he leaves the Hammers.

Scamacca’s compatriot Emerson Palmieri also found the net in West Ham’s victory on Saturday.
