A vast selection of teams from across Europe are lining up to ask Atalanta about the availability of midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, with coaches in both England and Italy said to be keen on the Dutch, according to recent reports.

Aged 25, Koopmeiners is considered to be one of the most coveted properties on the Serie A market in terms of midfielders, especially after his impressive 2022-23 campaign, which came with 10 goals and four assists from 33 league appearances.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed and Inter, as well as both Juventus and Napoli are reported by Footmercato to be among the most interested parties in Serie A.

Roberto De Zerbi has also been reported by numerous outlets to be interested in Koopmeiners, especially if Brighton let Moises Caicedo leave in a big-money move this summer.

Liverpool have also been mentioned by Footmercato. Jurgen Klopp’s side are experiencing a rebuild, focussing particularly on the midfield department, although with the recent arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, that move may have been put to one side.

Aston Villa and Unai Emery are also on the list of admirers from the Premier League, according to Sunday evening’s report.

Atalanta, however, are reluctant to sell and are aware of the fact that a substantial offer could come in for striker Rasmus Hojlund this summer, which would further decrease the need to raise immediate funds by selling a player of Koopmeiners’ importance.
