Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has decided to accept Al-Nassr’s offer, partly because of a decision made by Barcelona’s Franck Kessie, TMW details.

The Saudi side will pay around €23m for the 30-year-old Croatian midfielder, who in turn will sign a two or three-year deal worth around €20m net per season. He featured prominently for the Nerazzurri this season and was a key part of the Croatia squad at the 2022 World Cup.

Al-Nassr were not the only club interested in Brozovic. Recent reports highlighted Barcelona’s intentions to sign the 30-year-old and talks were held with Inter, who were open to a deal, but one factor in particular caused this to collapse.

TMW details how Barcelona offered Kessie to Inter as part of the deal for Brozovic, but the former Milan midfielder rejected a move, making his desire to stay in Catalonia clear. He didn’t even consider a return to Italy, causing the negotiations to collapse.

The sale of Brozovic could allow Inter to turn their focus to Frattesi and SportItalia reports that a deal could be finalised as early as Wednesday next week.
