Multiple sources in Italy claim Manchester United are leading the race to sign Inter keeper André Onana who will be replaced by Guglielmo Vicario at San Siro.

La Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport claim the Red Devils are pushing to sign the Cameroon international, who has just completed his first season with the Nerazzurri.

According to Gazzetta, Manchester United are ‘ready’ to make an offer, while Il Corriere dello Sport (Wednesday’s paper edition, page 6) wrote that Onana ‘will hug Erik ten Hag again’ given that the pair already worked together at Ajax.

Inter’s asking price for Onana is in the region of €60m.

On the other hand, Empoli‘s Vicario would cost circa €25m.

On Tuesday, the Tuscans’ President Fabrizio Corsi said that a top Serie A club had called him asking for information about the Italy international since they could sell their goalkeeper abroad.

Chelsea were thought to be leading the race for Onana, but Manchester United are now ahead in the race for the 27-year-old.
